$289
A six-week ceramic sculpture course focused on the anatomy, structure, and expression of the human face.
This immersive course guides students through the process of sculpting a realistic human face while developing observational skills, understanding facial anatomy, and learning foundational ceramic sculpting techniques. Designed for beginners and experienced artists alike, the class emphasizes slowing down, studying form, and learning to sculpt what you truly see.
Throughout the session, students will build a face from the ground up, beginning with foundational head structure, construction lines, and facial proportions before gradually developing features including the nose, mouth, lips, chin, eyes, eyebrows, cheekbones, ears, and hair.
Students will also explore important technical aspects of ceramic sculpture including moisture control, crack prevention and repair, hollowing techniques for firing, surface refinement, and finishing methods using underglazes, and glazes.
The course encourages patience, experimentation, and trust in the creative process while helping students gain confidence using sculpting tools and developing a deeper understanding of human expression and form.
By the end of the six weeks, students will complete a finished ceramic face sculpture and leave with a strong foundation in figurative sculpting techniques and facial anatomy.
