Intermediate Potters Wheel
A six-week intermediate workshop to refine your technique, explore new forms, and build confidence in throwing and glazing
$289
Take your pottery skills to the next level in this six-week intermediate ceramics workshop focused on refining technique, exploring more advanced forms, and building confidence both on the wheel and at the glazing table.
Designed for students who have completed an introductory ceramics course or have equivalent experience, this workshop helps bridge the gap between beginner fundamentals and more intentional, refined pottery making. Throughout the six weeks, students will focus on improving consistency in throwing, trimming, handle attachment, and finishing while learning how to create taller, cleaner, and more dynamic forms.
Students will explore a variety of intermediate projects and techniques including altered and donut forms, lidded pieces, refined cylinders and bowls, and surface enhancement through oxides and intermediate glazing methods. Alongside technical demonstrations, the course will encourage experimentation, problem-solving, and personal style development to help students grow both creatively and technically.
Each session is structured to strengthen foundational skills while introducing new challenges and approaches to working with clay. Students will leave the course with a collection of functional and artistic finished pieces, greater confidence in the studio, and an expanded ceramic toolkit to support continued growth beyond the classroom.
